Massood Darvishzadeh, DDS, affectionately known as “Dr. Darvish,” operates Walnut Creek Dental, a dental facility in Walnut Creek, CA USA. He attained degrees in Biochemistry and Genetics at UC Berkeley and completed his doctorate in Dental Surgery at UCSF.
For years, he has held a dream of providing dental services to the underprivileged around the world. He’s thought intensively about precisely how this operation could be structured, along with detailed designs for high-functioning, cost-effective mobile units – what he believes is the best way to reach communities in need.
To start something from scratch takes a great deal of time and focus, and while maintaining a practice and raising a family, he could never scrape together enough time to give it all that it required. Though he volunteers whenever he can, he has been unable to locate partners who wish to serve as he does, outside of a faith-based operation.
Eventually, the dream to serve became too powerful to resist and he made the decision to just begin – opening the door for partnerships and alliances, and allowing a much needed movement to begin organically.
